Found Dead in VA
June 2001
THE TREATMENT The New England Aquarium could not care for 100+ sick and injured sea turtles.
Arrangements were made with other facilities to accept some of the turtles, including Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Marathon Turtle Hospital, and Mote Marine Lab in Florida.
We agreed to accept eight, seven Kemp's and one loggerhead.
They arrived very ceremoniously by airplane.
Our Turtle Team then transported our cold guests to the Center.

The turtles are placed in individual tanks.
Each day the tanks are drained and cleaned.
During this process the turtle is removed to the
examination table for inspection.
