Loggerhead juvenile |

| THE TREATMENT | This sea
turtle presented weak and emaciated. Breathing has a rattle sound
indicating pneumonia. A routine of Fortaz was started to fight the
infection.
The turtle is eating when presented with food but does not eat on her own. When a single shrimp is held directly in front of her beak she will take it but the process of swallowing takes some time. Started on Fortaz and B-Complex. PCV 29, Glucose 102. ![]() ![]() |
| DEC 02 | Breathing much improved, continues to be coaxed into eating. |
| JAN 11, 03 | This turtle now eats on her own, small filets, cut in half. She slowing selects, bites and swallows a piece at a time, with a short rest between morsels. |
| SEPT 2003 | After spending the summer recuperating outside, swimming, eating and greeting the public, this turtle is ready to go home. |
