| THE STRANDING | Atlantic was brought to us emaciated and near death. She was unable to dive for food. Her PCV (similar to red blood count) at admission was 6. A healthy sea turtle will have a PCV around 30. |
| THE TREATMENT | For several months she was fed small meals many times a day. Finally she began to recover from the anorexia of starvation and began to gain weight. |
| NOV 2002 | PCV is now 26 and this turtle is well on her way to a complete recovery. We are confident Atlantic will be released in 2003. |
| JUNE 4, 2003 | Ready for summer and release. |
