THE STRANDING Found with boat propeller wounds to the left rear quadrant, across the spinal column.  Both rear flippers are moving.
THE TREATMENT Placed in shallow water.  Dressing of gauze soaked in Silverdene, covered with tegaderm.  Appetite is increasing, she is eating 3-4 crabs per day.

Taken to the NC State University School of Veterinary Medicine to stabilize the fracture.

Cindy is experiencing severe respiratory distress.  Additional surgery revealed lungs in very poor condition.
Aug 9, 2007
Cindy had a third surgery to try to improve her breathing.  Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and died the next morning.
