| THE STRANDING | When you get a call at 3AM that
a fisherman has caught a sea turtle from the banks for the Cape Fear
river in downtown Wilmington, whatever it really is better have
flippers. With some doubt, Nancy Fahey got dressed and went on a
rescue mission. Surprise, in front of the Coastline Convention
Center, a Kemp's, caught with hook and line.![]() Many thanks to the fisherman who saved the turtle after catching it, the Wilmington PD for calling it in, and of course Nancy, who is ever ready. |
| THE TREATMENT | The turtle swallowed the
hook. She was transported to CMAST,
where our own Dr. Craig Harms removed the hook and returned Coastline
to our care for recovery and release. ![]() Just a blood sample before we begin, then open wide, please.
