Green Sea Turtle (Chelonia mydas) Juvenile

THE STRANDING	Rescued from a net by brave rangers from Fort Fisher, NC. Alerted by boaters who observed another trapped turtle (Zeke), rangers found this little turtle nearly comatose, apparently trapped under water for an undetermined amount of time. Very lethargic with possible pneumonia.
THE TREATMENT	Schedule of Fortaz was initiated.  Kept out of water for the first day. This turtle was quick to recover from the trauma caused by a near death experience.

Please, no more lettuce!

RELEASED 7/17/00	These little greens are rocket turtles.  Holding them on their backs calms them for the ride to the beach.
