THE STRANDING Rescued by the Marine Mammal Stranding Network in New Jersey, this little Kemp's Ridley was found with a cleanly severed right front flipper.
THE TREATMENT Antibiotics, fluids and coaxed eating were the prescibed treatment.  It took two weeks, but the little one finally started eating.

Jersey Girl practices swimming in place every day so she can be released.
APRIL 2008
Jersey has a chance to prove she can be released by swimming in the big tank at the Fort Fisher aquarium.

With Jersey Girl in her harness Mike gently places her in the 65,000 gallon tank.

Jersey Gitl cataches her breath and dives under for a swim.
