THE
STRANDING |
This
little Green was recovered from the beach, near Fort Macon, NC.
She was heavily encrusted
with barnacles and algae.
PCV was 34%.

| THE
TREATMENT |
She
was held overnight at the Pine Knoll Aquarium, wrapped in wet towels.
The turtle was lethargic and dehydrated, with no external wounds or limb
trauma.
Initial treatment included
the administration of Fortaz, Iron Dextron
and B-complex. |
| DAY
ONE |
Initial
treatment at the KBSTRRC began with the administration of fluids,150mg
for the first day and then 75mg maintenance. |

Medical
staffer Sharon prepares the fluid drip. This is often the first step
in the admission process and the first opportunity for the turtle to learn
the sound of the voice of medicine.
  
Cradled in towels, the little green receives fluids and TLC.
Yet another use for duct tape. |
