This unlucky turtle was found on a freezing Emerald Isle beach in an early morning snowfall.
Members of the Emerald Isle, NC sea turtle project, who thought they were responding to a dead stranded sea turtle, found instead this very cold turtle.
After consulting with the state wildlife commission, the volunteers transported the turtle to the KBSTRRC.
Once in the facility the turtle was evaluated by staff and Dr. Harms was consulted by phone.  The initial exam revealed a mossy, lethargic, skinnny turtle, WITH TAGS in the rear flipper.  As it turns out, this is neuse.
Where had she been these past 8 months?
