TREATMENT |
This turtle
has a large long-line hook imbedded in the proximal section of the left
front flipper. She will travel to the Vet School next week for removal.
The
circle indicates the "eye" end of the hook.
The arrow indicate the point of entry, with the remainder of the hook wrapped
internally around the bone. |

Post surgical complications involving sutures which
did not dissolve properly caused swelling and loss of movement in the flipper,
delaying healing.
When the wound has closed sufficiently she can be released.
Radiographs were ordered. .
