THE STRANDING Part of a mass cold stun stranding event.  Peace was in bad shape.  Stunned and debilitated, the birds had started to nip at her flippers.  With a large portion of missing shell over the rear flipper, this turtle was very lucky to escape further injuries from hungry birds.
THE TREATMENT She is a little loggerhead.  Her wounds and barnacle filled body are attended to daily.  Sweet, sweet turtle.

Peace is feeling fine and to prove she ordered her bling from NCWRC.
Matthew Godfrey tagged her rear flippers and inserted a pit tag in her shoulder.
We hope she lives a long and happy life in the great blue, but should she run into trouble, we will be able to identify her.

That was a close encounter with a big mouth
