RELEASE SEPT 2010

(What we did for the) 1998 Hurricane 'Bonnie'.
The seven sea turtles in residence were evacuated on Tuesday, August 25th, 1998.
This was accomplished with the aid of a U-Haul truck and a lot of positive thinking.
The sea turtles were all shifted into smaller, evacuations sized tanks.
The tanks were then packed/stacked inside.  Director Jean Beasley then drove the
truck off the island to the home where she would be staying during the storm.
Once the sea turtles where safely parked Jean returned to the island to finish
her own preparations and packing.  That's dedication.
Friday, August 28th, the town of Topsail Beach re-opened
and the sea turtles were returned to their luxurious quarters.
