| THE INJURY | Found in a pound net on 7/07/00 in Core Sound, NC,
with
puncture wounds from sting ray barbs. 
In addition to the puncture wounds, many scutes have been shed from the carapace. |
| THE TREATMENT | Ray was admitted 7/8/00. The puncture wounds were
flushed with a saline solution and the carapace was scrubbed with betadine.
Triple antibiotic ointment was applied to various abrasions. An antibiotic and vitamin K were administered by injection.
