THE STRANDING Caught in a pound net during NMFS 'sea turtle rodeo', Rodeo has large ventral neck wounds with hyoid bone exposure.
THE TREATMENT Transported to the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine for 
physical examination.  Procedures included radiographs of the skull and neck, surgical debridement of the wound and removal of exposed necrotic right ventral hyoid bone.
Rodeo was then transported to the KBSTRRC.
UPDATE 8/20/00 Currently receiving fluids and a schedule of Ceftazadime.  The wounds are flushed with diluted nolvason or betadine.

MAY 2001

Today was weight, measure, and draw day.  Dr. harms exams the wounds to Rodeo's
neck, which have healed.
