| THE STRANDING | Found at the power plant in Brunswick County, with a fracture of the distal humerus of the left front flipper, and a gash on the left side of the face, resulting in a fracture of the zygomatic arch as well. Started on antibiotics. |
| THE TREATMENT | Taken to the College of Veterinary Medicine
of NC State, the fracture was reduced using a combination of of plates,
screws and wires. This turtle was then transported by State wild
life officials to the KBSTRRC.

| June 2003 | Wick's injuries to the flipper were too severe and
the flipper was amputated.

| Sept 2003 | Wick has adjusted to swimming and diving three flippered and is ready for release. |
